Hi there. Journalism sounds interesting, can you tell me more about it?

Hmmm. What do you wanna know? What I can tell you is that, journalism IS a very interesting profession. Everyday you’ll be doing different things. But of course, the core of it all is still writing.
For me, I write court stories, human interest stories (my favourite), dry political stuff, environmental pieces, issues that affect the community and even question the politicians on current issues.
What I haven’t done is crime stories. This is something I’m not good at and usually I’m not assigned to cover crime. We have a reporter who specialises in this area.
Anything else you wanna know? And oh, not forgetting, I’ve had the opportunity to cover football matches involving Penang and mind you, it hasn’t looked pretty at all.
During my eight months or so, I’ve travelled as far as Lunas in Kedah for assignments. However, there are some days when you have virtually nothing to do. On days like these, you either try very hard to find a story to do. If you REALLY REALLY can’t, then you just sit in the office and read anything and everything you can find.
Best of all, I’ve a great boss and wonderful colleagues. Jokers, they are.
